Stats for Book Nerds
This month's top genre in Adult Fiction heavily leans toward mystery/thriller, with spots #1 through #4 held by this genre. Author Alaina Urquhart is the top author of the month, though Kristin Hannah is holding strong at 33 weeks on the NYT Bestseller List. All five novels have been on the NYT Bestseller's list since the month of their respective publications. Since last month's list, The Women dropped in standing from second to third. Refreshingly, four out of five novels in the top five are new releases. This most likely coincides with the kick-off of publishing's third release season, which starts in September and runs until December.
This month's top genre in YA Fiction leans toward fantasy, with the #1, #3, and #4 spots held by this genre. Author Tigest Girma is the top author of the month in the #1 spot; however, Rebecca Ross has held her own on the NYT Bestseller list for 66 weeks, and she has not budged an inch from her #3 ranking. All five novels have been on the NYT Bestseller's list since the month of their respective publications. Since last month's list, The Grandest Game and The Reappearance of Rachel Price have fallen in standing, while Divine Rivals and Nightbane are holding steady. Unlike the Adult Fiction list, the YA Top 5 still houses multiple titles over six months old. Either the new wave of YA novels has yet to be released for this publishing season, or the new names just can't compete.
